Purpose

So far, what we have covered is teleporting user presence and perspectives from one world to another. What about teleporting users’ digital identities and assets?

In the physical world, when we go from one place to another, our identity travels along with us. Physical identity can be intrinsic attributes such as our bodies and voices, or extrinsic attributes such as the clothes we wear, the phones we carry and the cars we drive. We retain the same intrinsic identities and often carry similar extrinsic identities, no matter where we travel across the physical world.

In the Metaverse, our identity is defined by a different, collective set of attributes – our avatars and virtual costumes, the in-game items and NFTs we have collected, as well other digital assets and digital properties we own. Imagining winning a big racecar game and an awesome and rare virtual car for reward – wouldn’t it be nice to drive that virtual car around and showcase it to friends across different virtual worlds in the Metaverse?

It is innate to human nature to express ourselves through our identities, both intrinsic and extrinsic, regardless of presence location. This is why teleporting our digital identities and assets matter. In MHTTP, we have designed an Asset Teleporter to do exactly that.
